In the last E-Sylum you wrote about Hong Kong issuing notes with Braille, following the practice of China, and the Treasury asking for comments for paper money changes for the blind. Attached is a recent article I wrote about "Blind Notes" which appeared in the paper money supplement in the June 7 issue of Coin World.
Thanks for forwarding the article. It's copyrighted and I can't reprint it here, but it's well researched, written and presented. Banknotes of Armenia, Bulgaria, China, Poland and Uruguay and discussed and several are illustrated. Especially interesting were the close-up photos of the different types of raised intaglio symbols used by the different countries. Apparently there is no international standard as yet. -Editor
