Martha (Wayles Skelton) Jefferson

Biography

Born in Charles City, Virginia. Married Bathurst Skelton and had a son. Her husband died in 1768. Married to Thomas Jefferson on January 1, 1772. They had six children.. She died before he was elected president so she did not serve as a “First Spouse.””
