Jack W. Ogilvie
Born in Paducah, Kentucky. Employed as a film editor in Hollywood at Universal Studios. Married Helga Linda December 24, 1953. They had a daughter.
He began collecting coins in 1935. He was life member 93 of the ANA. He contributed articles to The Numismatist on "The ANA and its Presidents." On May 6, 1950, he was appointed ANA Historian to succeed Farran Zerbe. He served until 1970. One of his innovations was the ANA Numismatic Hall of Fame. He received the ANA Medal of Merit in 1953 and the Farran Zerbe Memorial Award in 1964.
He conducted 10 auctions from 1940 to 1959.
He died in Los Angeles.
