John Parsons

Biography

Born in Indiana; moved to Quincy, Illinois. Married Daphne Dunster September 19, 1849. They had three sons and a daughter. Practiced medicine before moving to Colorado near Pikes Peak in 1859. Produced gold coins in Colorado via Parsons & Co. in the summer of 1861. He continued to practice medicine. He was also involved with farming and dairy operations. He organized the "Parsons Expedition" into the Elk Mountains. He later moved to Utah where he died.
