James Roy Pennell
Born in Anderson County, South Carolina. Graduate of Clemson University and Harvard Business School. He served with Naval reserves in WWII and the Korean War. Married to Arden Trowbridge with a son and three daughters. President of Superior and Anderson Concrete Cos.
He served on the Assay Commission in 1969. Served as president of the Society of Paper Money Collectors 1971 to 1975.
In 2006 he received the Nathan Gold Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019 he was inducted into the SPMC Hall of Fame.
He died at home in Anderson, South Carolina
