Hal Reed

Biography

Born in Frederick, Oklahoma. Served in the Army during WWII and the Korean War. Instructor at Art League of Los Angeles after 1965.

He designed the U.S. Marine Corps Bicentennial Medal and the U.S. Navy Bicentennial Medal. He received no payment and little recognition for his efforts.

In 1999 he received the Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture from the ANA.
