Paul Revere


Married Sarah Orne in 1754. They had seven daughters and a son. Married Rachel Walker in 1773. They had five sons and three daughters.

On the evening of April 18, 1775, he rode from Charlestown to Lexington to worn colonists of approaching British troops. Local militias engaged the British at the battles of Lexington and Concord. Longfellow’s poem “Paul Revere’s Ride” made Reverse a legend.

Appears on one of the Bicentennial medals.
