Leo Allen Young
Biography
Born in Sanford, Florida. Married to Pearl A. Walkers March 26, 1938. They had four sons. (NUM obit lists his wife as Jeanette) Graduated as an electrical engineer from the University of California and California State Polytechnic College. Employed with Pacific gas and Electric 1938 to 1943.
He began collecting coins in 1942. He served as president of the PNG. The business in Lockeford, California, included a general store, appliance store, butcher shop, grocery and gas station. In 1956 a fire destroyed these businesses. The family home and some of their numismatic stock were saved. In July 1968 thieves broke into his office in Oakland, California. Conducted 25 auction sales 1953 to 1962 including the 1959 ANA sale. He was a member of the Masons. He died in Rosmoore, California.
