Reverse Description: A crescent sun appears at the bottom as if rising on the horizon with long rays extending to the top of the coin. A flying eagle covers the central portion, atop the rays. One of the rarest Saint-Gaudens issues is the 1924-D. Though not on quite the same order of rarity as the 1921 or 1927-D, the 1924-D is nevertheless a challenging coin to locate, particularly when the deep-pocketed buyer seeks a high-quality MS example in the grades of MS65 or higher. Only a handful of MS66s exist, and these are generally regarded as six-figure coins.
