No stars (and thus differing in style from the half dimes made for circulation). Reverse Description: Pattern die, style never used for general circulation, with perched eagle, low at the center, with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / HALF DISME surrounding. This pattern continues the half disme nomenclature of 1792 (J-7). General Notes: The unique specimen of this highly important issue rests in the National Numismatic Collection in the Smithsonian Institution and certainly is one of the most significant of all early patterns.
