A quill pen, a sheaf of parchment, and the words WE THE PEOPLE are depicted on the obverse. The reverse portrays a cross-section of Americans from various periods representing contrasting lifestyles. A modernistic design by Marcel Jovine was selected for the five-dollar gold coin. The obverse portrays a stylized eagle holding a 322 COMMEMORATIVES federal issues massive quill pen. Another large quill pen is featured on the reverse. To the left are nine stars, signifying the first colonies that ratified the Constitution. Four stars to the right represent the remaining original states. Both Uncirculated and Proof versions were minted at West Point. PCGS #: 907000
