UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is written around the periphery with the date at the bottom. General Notes: The S mintmark is larger than normal. This scarce die variety is one of the keys among Philippine coins struck under American sovereignty. It was one of the first Philippine die varieties to be included in the Guide Book of United States Coins.
