      General Notes: The 1870 Proof Two Cent Piece has a slightly higher mintage of 1,000 coins struck. Most of that mintage has survived. These coins are scarce as of PR66 with brown and red-brown color; while full red examples are rare as of PR65. Any cameo surfaces are great rarities in all grades. Once again, collectors should seek out either nice toners or blazing red examples.
