The date is positioned at the bottom. Reverse Description: The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR. General Notes: Deep mirror proof-like surfaces. The 1878-CC Morgan dollar saw a mintage of 2,212,000, of which 60,993 were sold in the GSA Hoard sales. These pieces were first offered in the GSA sale during 1973 under the headline The Coins Jesse James Never Got. These silver dollars are generally encountered in uncirculated condition and are available in both hard packs and soft packs.
