A ribbon above the eagle's head bears the motto IN GOD WE TRUST General Notes: According to Heritage catalogers, "this small arrows variety exhibits arguably the boldest die doubled obverse in the entire Seated Liberty half dollar series. The doubling is easily seen on Liberty's gown folds, fingers, foot, the lower stars, the scroll, and the shield stripes which exhibit four lines each instead of the normal three."
