General Notes: The 1917 doubled die obverse Lincoln cent is popular among some of the more advanced series enthusiasts, though by no means is it on the same level of familiarity with most collectors as other varieties from the Lincoln series, such as the 1955 doubled die. Doubling is visible to the trained naked eye and is most prominent in the date and motto IN GOD WE TRUST.
