General Notes: The 1918-D Buffalo nickel is a scarce Denver-mint issue, along the lines in scarceness with several of the other early mintmarked Buffalo nickels. With a mintage of 8,362,000, the 1918-D is decidedly difficult to find in any grade. Even circulated examples represent a certain challenge, though the in uncirculated grades and especially gem the coin is genuinely scarce. The only MS67 example graded by a top-tier TPG is one slabbed by PCGS, while MS66 specimens number around a few dozen. PCGS #: 3938 NGC ID: 22RH
