Reverse Description: The Jefferson home is prominently centered with the name MONTICELLO captioned below. The denomination FIVE CENTS is spelled out in half circle underneath and the words E PLURIBUS UNUM and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA appear at the top and bottom periphery. The mintmark is positioned on the right side of Monticello. General Notes: Mint State coins per se are plentiful, but most have problems of one sort or another—erratic luster, weak details, and sub-par eye appeal. Five Full Steps and 6 Full Steps coins exist and can be found with good eye appeal, but are few and far between. The 1940-S is a good example of the necessity to look beyond the step count and insist on eye appeal as well. PCGS #: 4009 NGC ID: 22TF
