The date is positioned at the bottom. Reverse Description: The heraldic eagle is centered holding a bunch of arrows and branch surrounded by and olive leaves. The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR. General Notes: Like many other O-mint Morgan dollar, the 1887-O is a relatively tough date with wide availability in the circulated grades as well as in the lower MS grades. In MS64, this piece becomes scarce and rare in the Gem levels. Only a tiny handful are known in the MS66 level. PLs and DMPLs are both very scarce in all grades, with Gems of either proving rare.
