General Notes: The 1878-S GSA Morgan dollar is significantly more difficult to find than its CC counterparts and is vigorously pursued by those building collections or inventories consisting of GSA Hoard silver dollars. Because 1878-S GSA Morgan dollars are relatively scarce, they generally enjoy much higher premiums when sold in their original plastic packaging than with merely a notation to its GSA Hoard provenance on an older, regular slab. The 1878-S is found in both hard packs and soft packs, with some encountered in circulated condition and other uncirculated condition. NGC ID: 253R
