The words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA * ONE DOLLAR frame the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears above the letters DO of DOLLAR. General Notes: The 1887 GSA Morgan dollar is a rarity in that very few non-CC Morgan dollars were offered in the Great Silver Sale of the 1970s and early 1980s. It therefore makes sense that 1887 GSA Morgan dollars command significant premiums on the occasion they are sold, generally taking higher prices in GSA plastic than a regular raw or certified 1887 Morgan dollar in similar condition. The 1887 GSA Morgan dollars are found in circulated and uncirculated condition and in either soft packs of hard packs. PLs and DMPLs are exceptionally scarce. PCGS #: 519836 NGC ID: 254Y
