IN GOD WE TRUST appears left of the neck and the date is positioned just below the bust around 5 o'clock. The designer's initials "AW" appear to the right of the neck. Reverse Description: A large torch is centered vertically adorned with an axe head and olive branches. UNITED STATES OF AMERICAN * ONE DIME * is spelled out around the periphery. Mint mark, if any, appears near the bottom rim left of the torch. General Notes: A basic Mercury dime set comprises all 77 regular-issue business strikes, including the 1916-D, 1921, and 1921-D Mercury dimes. This is perhaps the most popular Mercury dime set among both registry set collectors and those who are assembling circulated sets. By definition of this being a basic set, it excludes any of the non-regular issue varieties that have been identified by numismatists, including the 1942/1, 1942-1-D, and 1945 Micro S, three coins that are found in the 80-coin complete set.
