Collectors of early half dollars by Overton variety are typically serious and advanced numismatists. Patience and financial resources are required (in equal amounts) to achieve the nearly impossible goal of completing an Overton collection.
In 1990, the third edition of the Overton book was published with edits by Don Parsley. It is highly recommended for every numismatic library and readily available on supplier web sites, Amazon, and eBay.
