Three sheets of St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co. letterhead laid in, the backs of which have been used by Burdette Johnson to take notes on several varieties of Washington coins and medals. Very good or so. Baker is a foundational work on the subject, and an enduring classic. Rather scarce, due to the fragile nature of the paper employed. [with] Baker, W.S. Annotated in pencil; very good. Baker's work on engravings of Washington is also important and not without numismatic relevance. [with] Snowden, James Ross. Small 4to, original green quarter calf, gilt; spine lettered in gilt. x, (2), 13-203, (1) pages; letter facsimile plate; facsimile autograph plate; 21 superb plates of medals engraved by Joseph Saxton's medal ruling machine.
