    Eric P. Newman's handwritten notes taken while viewing portions of the Col. E. H. R. Green collection at the Chase Bank in New York at various times. Many pages undated, date is approximate.

    Inventory of dimes and half dimes purchased by Eric P. Newman and B. G. Johnson from the estate of Col. E.H.R. Green. Typed copy in black. Various lots are marked in blue or red pencil, a key on the first page denotes red as “sold” and blue as “withdrawn.” 72 numbered pages total, including dimes (pp. 1-48), pattern dimes (pp. 49-52), pattern half dimes (pp. 53-54), half dimes (pp. 54-A to 54-F, 55-72). The inside front cover contains the notation “MOLNEFUICK” in red pencil, with a note from Newman pasted below indicating “March 2013. I wish to correct the above code. The C is not a 9 but a dummy letter used anywhere in the system. The K is 9 always.” Pp. 1-21 are additionally hand priced while pp. 22-72 are priced in code. A comparison of the two sets of prices, along with Newman’s note, may provide sufficient data to unlock the pricing code.

    Inventory of miscellaneous paper money purchased by Eric P. Newman and B. G. Johnson from the estate of Col. E.H.R. Green. Two copies, three pages each. The first copy appears to be the original typed copy in black, the second (blue-colored) copy represents a later version with selected lots marked in red pencil. Date of 1941 is approximate.

    Correspondence related to Eric P. Newman and Burdette G. Johnson's purchases from the Col. Green estate made from 1940 to 1945, although earlier correspondence begins in 1937. Correspondence is primarily between Newman and Chase Bank in New York. The file includes later photocopies of Newman's handwritten inventory notes, in addition to several telegrams.

    Inventory of half dollars and pattern dollars purchased by Eric P. Newman and B. G. Johnson from the estate of Col. E.H.R. Green. In black type, 101 numbered leaves covering half dollars, following by 11 unnumbered pages listing pattern dollars by Adams-Woodin numbers, dated 1864 to 1885. The initial section includes U.S. regular issue half dollars from 1794 to 1935 (pp. 1-81), pattern half dollars (pp. 82-86), Confederates (p. 86), proof Panama-Pacific half dollars (p. 86) Philippines (p. 86), and Washington pieces including the 1792 gold (p. 87). The Nova Constellatio 100 mills piece is also listed on p. 86. Coins sent on approval follow: Stack's (pp. 88-89), Kelly (pp. 89-99), and approval returns from Elder (pp. 100-101). Various prices are overstamped with violet date stamps indicating sales made by Johnson on behalf of Johnson and Newman. Date of 1941 is approximate.

Includes U.S. regular issue half dollars from 1794 to 1935 (pp. 1-81), pattern half dollars (pp. 82-86), Confederates (p. 86), proof Panama-Pacific half dollars (p. 86) Philippines (p. 86), and Washington pieces including the 1792 gold (p. 87). The Nova Constellatio 100 mills piece is also listed on p. 86. This copy does not include the additional 11-page section of pattern half dollars found in the original, typed copy.
