Stack's Bowers Galleries auction sale of the famous Sultan of Muscat-Childs-Pogue 1804 silver dollar graded PCGS Proof 68 at Sotheby's in New York City. The coin received a world record setting bid for any United States coin ($9.2 million hammer, $10.81 million including the auction house commission) but the consignor's reserve was not met.
