Many noted sculptors were selected to design coins for the traditional U.S. commemorative series (1892 - 1954). Laura Gardin Fraser, Chester Beach, Hans Schuler and Charles Keck are just a few. These sculptors were often also commissioned to produce commemorative medals - sometimes in conjunction with their coin designs.
