Slab Lab Episode 6 / Martin Logies Part 1

(2021)

Multi-Media Summary

Martin Logies is one of the foremost authorities on early dollars. In 2004 he released a book on the series, "The Flowing Hair Silver Dollars of 1794." Logies is the director and curator of the Cardinal Collection Education Foundation, a non-profit helping foster appreciation for early coinage. The collection boasts a stunning array of large cents, early copper, a 1792 Half Disme (PCGS MS68), and flowing hair and bust dollars. Numerous coins (and their images) are discussed in this episode, many of which were owned by Logies, including the 1794 $1 - the first silver dollar minted by the United States graded PCGS SP66; incredibly well struck with a virtually flawless surface.
