John Lindsay (1789–1870) was an Irish barrister who collected and published on a number of numismatic subjects. His work on Parthian coins is one of the earliest substantive publications, preceding Gardner’s Parthian Coinage by a generation. It benefitted from Eckhel’s corrections of many of the assumptions underlying Vaillant’s foundational 1725 work. Leitzmann 78 (citing 1853).
