Presented here is the Spring 2011 edition of Steve Herrman's auction prices realized guide for Bust half dollars. The current edition is available from author Steve Herrman at herrman102@aol.com.
After more than four years of tracking prices realized for the Bust half dollars, the first edition of Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized for Bust Half Dollars 1794-1839 (AMBPR) was announced in the John Reich Journal and published in September 1992. 2,291 auction lot records were listed on 39 pages. New revisions have been published semi-annually in late March (Spring) and late September (Autumn). As additional prices realized have been entered into the database, the length of the AMBPR has grown. The Spring 2016 revision, Number 48, is 263 pages in length, and 12,824 auction lot records are listed. Note that older auction lot information is judiciously rolled off to help control the length of new revisions. $2.50 has been donated to the John Reich Collectors Society (http://www.jrcs.org/) for each copy sold since the inception of the AMBPR for Bust half dollars in 1992.
