Gilbert, Ebenezer
Born in Stamford, New York. Married to Harriet Plumb with three daughters.
Author with Thomas Elder of Varieties of the United States Cents of 1796 in 1909. Author of The United States Half Cents: From the First Year of Issue in 1793, to the Year When Discontinued, 1857 in 1916. It was reprinted in 1962.
His collection was sold at auction in three sales by Elder June 9, 1909, October 12-13, 1910, and April 12, 1912. He died in New York City.
