Groux, Daniel
Born in Switzerland, he came to America in 1844. Married Pauline Josephine Adele Descamps in 1825. Married Mary Ann Johnson on June 7, 1851. In 1861 he was charged with bigamy.
Teacher of languages. Self proclaimed professor of numismatics.. Groux coins were included in five auction sales 1848 to 1874.
Author of Catalogue of Medals and Coins (1855).
Author of A Prospectus of a Numismatic History of the United States. The proposed three volume work was never published.
