Raal Lakria

Stavornitms, in his Voyages to the East Indies, 1798 (iii. 8), in writing of the coinage of Surat, says: " All foreign coins are taken according to their weight and assay; but the Mexican dollars, or Pieces of Eight, known among the natives by the appellation of raal lakria, must, if weighed, contain seventy-three waals.
