Zingirli

Marsden states (i. 372) that this term " does not belong to a particular denomination, being applied to such pieces, whether of gold or silver, as are distin- guished by tlie toghra or royal cipher, and that of zingirli (from zingir, a chain) seems to be given only to those coins which have been pierced with a hole for the pur- pose of hanging them on a chain about the neck. "
