Blanking Die
Blanking Die. The tooling which cuts out flat pieces of stock from rolled strip material to form blanks. A blanking die (more appropriately, blanking die set) includes the punch, a plate, a stripper, and occasionally a holder. There is no die with a design in a blanking die set, it is for cutting out a specific shape only. It is sometimes called a blank-cutter, and in England it is called cutting-out die. See blanking.
