Cisele

Cisele.  French word for engraved, usually by hand. Cisele objects have a surface that is both engraved and chased, often with a single tool, a kind of chisel, called a ciselet. The high style of cisele decorated metal was in the popular 19th century when several noted French ciseleurs created some outstanding metal items including jewelry.
