Immersion Gold
Immersion Gold. A coating of gold by melting the precious metal and inserting a medallic item into the dip solution. It adheres to the item in an uneven coating, but obviously colors it gold. It was an early primitive coating method that could have been accomplished at lower cost by firegilding, and in modern times, by goldplating.
