Jump Ring

Jump Ring.  A ring for suspending a medallic item, such as a pendant, to a ribbon, chain, header, or the like; also called link ring. Jump rings do not have their ends welded, but are lapped to permit it to be spread and closed connecting the two items. Jump rings aid in attaching several medallic items to each other. Usually round, they are also made oval and triangularly shaped.  See SUSPENSION.
