Knurled, Knurling
Knurled, Knurling. Small ridges, a series of raised ridge. It is the opposite of fluting, a series of indentations. The combination of knurls and flutes in series form the reeding on a reeded edge numismatic piece. Knurl work collectively is called knurling, and this is an often used term for reeding. See reeded edge.
