Leaves

Leaves.  Foliage appearing on coins or medals, either singly, in ornamentation, or more commonly, in wreaths or garlands. A wide variety of leaves have appeared as ornamentation and in wreaths, the most common are ivy, laurel, oak, acorn, palm, wheat and acanthus, each with their own symbolism. Such ornamentation is termed foliated.  See wreaths.
