Limited Issue
Limited Issue. The number of medals to be struck of one kind is announced in advance and only a quantity up to this number is made. Often a limited issue is serially numbered and often the dies are destroyed or canceled after the stated quantity are struck. This precludes more than this number being issued (but, of course, this has happened by unscrupulous medal publishers).
