Medium Relief

Medium Relief.  A type of raised relief in sculpture midway between low and high; otherwise called half relief. The relief projects moderately from the background with extensive undercutting. Some plaques found in numismatics are cast of this relief. It is impossible to diestrike medium relief.  See relief.
