Punch
Punch. (2) The upper blanking, striking or piercing die; the trussell. The punch is driven into the pile, the die in the lower position, in a press to blank strike or pierce a working piece. Also the reduction punch which was used by hubbing to transfer the design into a die, usually without the lettering, added later. See tressell.
