Sash
Sash. A wide ribbon worn over one shoulder to hang down at the opposite side of the body as a cordon. It is a badge of a society for members; there are also military sashes and sashes of orders and decorations, award and contestant sashes (as Miss America). Compare cordon, grand cordon.
