Trussell
Trussell. The upper die in coining; the punch. The trussell is mated with the pile, or die in the lower position in striking. The trussell is driven into the pile. (This definition presumes dies acting in vertical motion; on some modern presses the dies operate horizontally). See presses and pressroom practice.
