Unedited

Unedited.  Not in the form for final publication, not ready to be issued; or issued without careful examination of all devices, lettering and symbols. Such a practice of eliminating the editing function is foolhardy, as the editor of a coin or medal is expected to catch design errors before the model is placed into production. It is easier to redo a model, say, in clay or plaster, than to scrap a die after it has been cut or worse yet, to scrap a production run after an incorrect die has been put into production.  See editing.
