Plain Edge
Plain Edge. An edge without reeding, lettering, engrailment or ornamentation. It is made by striking in a smooth collar, by trimming, or by turning on a lathe. A plain edge may be polished – either as part of the finishing procedure – or as part of a jewelry-like finish with polished rims and edge. See edge, polished edge.
