The crown-sized coin of France 1600s-1800s. 2. A promotional coin created by the Comunidad Econ´┐Żmica Europea 1979-1995. The Madrid mint turned out 25 types 1898-1996 until that fad died. ECU stands for European Currency Unit (Unidad Monetaria Europea).
