Spanish: Rarity. A coin or collectible that has limited availability or that there are few in existence. Rarity of condition means a coin could have little value in good condition, but is quite rare if uncirculated. Rare does not always mean a coin has great value. The demand from collectors and rarity combine to influence the market price for any item. A rare coin is harder to find than a scarce coin.
