Early Paper Money of America / Rhode Island / 1756 February 27

£8,000 in Lawful Money equal to same amount of Massachusetts Bay and Connecticut currency at 6s9d per ounce of silver was issued. Cast cuts on the top and side borders. The body of the bill is in set type with a cast cut of the Colony seal. These were small bills of similar size to the Connecticut bills of the same period. Due without interest on Feb. 27, 1758 pursuant to the Feb. 1756 Act and conforming to the Mar. 12, 1750/51 Act of the English Parliament. Same signers as the Mar. 18, 1750/51 issue.
